Barry F. Wentzel, 84, of Temple, PA, died peacefully at home on June 6, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born August 14, 1941, in Reading, PA, Barry was a lifelong resident of Temple. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Rosellen Fisher Wentzel, who passed in January 2021, as well as his brother George Wentzel, sister Carrie Wentzel Yoder, and his parents, Arron F. Wentzel and Gertrude Rothenberger Wentzel.
Barry is survived by his children: Robin Wentzel Eckert (husband William A. Eckert) of Temple, Robert Wentzel (wife Patricia Wentzel) of Lubbock, TX, and Jennifer Wentzel of Temple. He delighted in his eight grandchildren—Cassandra Wentzel Razzi, Bailey Wentzel Hogan, Kyle Eckert, Jarid Wentzel, Justin Wentzel, Aaron Wentzel, Dylan Nertavich, and Amanda Eckert—and he cherished his eight great-grandchildren: Hadley Hogan, Jonathan Ross, Melonie Austin, Nathaniel Hogan, Wesley Razzi, Cash Wentzel, Everett Razzi, and Jordan Wentzel.
A family man and avid camper, Barry valued time with family and family pets—whether gathered at home or RVing with friends. His playful, mischievous spirit with nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will be remembered as memorable moments spent with him. We will all carry his memory with us and remember to “Outen the lights” when we leave a room.
