Blanche Iva Wiest

Blanche Iva Wiest passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Heritage Mills in Tower City.

She was born February 4, 1930 in Mahantango Township in Schuylkill Co. Blanche was the daughter of the late Samuel and Laura Long. She lived in Gratz with her six sisters and two brothers until she married Kermit Wiest, who was from Sacramento, and moved to Harrisburg to raise her family.

She was a member of St Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Harrisburg.

Blanche is survived by her son, Karl (Jodie) Wiest ; granddaughter Christine (Ryan) Duffy; sisters Sally Shade of Elizabethville and Karen Long of Camp Hill; brother Mark (Brenda) Long of Gratz; sister-in-laws Louise Long of Millersburg and Jean Wiest of Bethlehem and numerous extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband Kermit; daughter Sandra and sons Keith and Ronald. Also sisters Grace Doyle and husband James, Esther Shiffer and husband Irvin, Ruth Lilly and husband Dennis, Irene Runkle and husband Charles; brother Clair Long and brother-in-law Jim Shade.
