Dana Beatty Obituary

Dana Beatty passed away on June 1, 2023, at the age of 58, with family lovingly by his side. He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring brother, supportive friend, and fierce protector of all those he loved.

Dana had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor, always making friends and family laugh - making light of every situation. He was generous, loyal, brave, and a fighter until the end. He was passionate about his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed watching games with his wife and son. Go Birds!

He was born on July 7, 1964, to the late Richard and Thelma Beatty in Norwich, Connecticut, and was the youngest of five children. After graduating from La Salle College High School, he went to Widener University and earned a Bachelor's degree in 1989. Thereafter, his talent for cooking led him to attend Johnson & Wales culinary school, after which he became a chef and director of food services. Dana's administrative success merged with his passion for serving others as he transitioned into nursing home administration. He went on to work at several nursing homes throughout the Philadelphia suburbs and took great joy in sharing a smile with his residents and their families.

Dana met the love of his life, Geriann, and they married in 2006. They resided in West Chester, PA, and in 2016 they moved to Douglassville, where he made great friends with neighbors and people throughout the community.

His greatest accomplishment was raising his son, Brandon. He enjoyed coaching his sports teams, taking him to NASCAR races, Eagles and Phillies games, and following his golf successes. One of his treasured memories was watching Brandon play golf in the Jones Cup at the PGA golf course in Florida while Brandon was on the Penn State University golf team. Dana was always very proud of his son.

Dana was predeceased by his father, Richard Beatty; mother, Thelma Beatty Pisano;  brother, Mark Beatty; and stepfather, Daniel Pisano. He is survived by his wife, Geriann; son, Brandon; Cree Jones; siblings, Pamela Laudadio (Joseph), Kerry Beatty, and Michael Beatty (Nancy); seven step-siblings; the Gabe family; and many close friends and relatives.
