Debra Lynn Garber, 67, of Pottstown PA, Passed away at Markley Rehab and Nursing on February 27, 2024.
She was born in Reading PA in Reading PA. Debra graduated from Boyertown Area Senior High School.
Debra was about to join the navy when her longtime crush, Randall (Randy) Garber asked her out on their first date. They fell in love and Married on October 30th, 1976.
Randy and Debbie couldn’t wait to start a family, Having children was Debbie’s dream. Their children meant the world to them. They had two girls; Pamela Lynn and Paula Mary. Debbie was an amazing mother and found great joy in raising her children. Family and togetherness was always a priority. They spent most of their time together in Rehoboth Beach fishing, swimming, clamming, and playing games. Clamming was one of Debbie’s favorite activities. She was always there for her girls, involved in school, activities, being the “cool mom” with their friends.
Debbie loved being a Mom-Mom. She loved spending time with her 8 grandchildren. She loved playing with them and watching them grow. They knew she loved them and will cherish all the love and memories.
Debbie loved animals. Max and Abby were the family pets when the kids were young. As an empty nester Pebbles was their dog. She loved her deeply and spoiled her. Most recently she loved holding her grand-dog, Acorn, like a baby and spoiling him.
Debra was passionate about her family and her role as a mother and wife. She enjoyed her time waitressing at Schaeffer’s restaurant before getting married. After the children were grown. She spent some time waitressing, working at the Dollar Tree, and Redner’s. She loved being able to talk with people.
Debra was a Christian and attended church regularly until Randy died. It was hard for her after he passed. She didn’t give up her faith and still had a relationship with the Lord. The most comforting thought is seeing her reunite with Randy and Jesus standing there the second she entered Heaven.
We will always remember laughing together about how she told the story of almost joining the navy. We wish we could hear her say Love Ya one more time.
We couldn’t have asked for a better mom and will miss Debbie every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Debra was preceded in death by Randall Garber (husband) and her parents. She is survived by Her Daughters Pamela Bernet and Paula Diamond. Her Brother Bruce Houck and David Houck.
