Debra Ann Schamber (Blasick), 63, of Reading, PA, formerly of Marietta, PA, entered into the eternal rest and joy of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 28, 2022. She leaves behind her only child, her daughter Hilary Blasick, and her son-in-law, Scott Stricker. She is also survived by her stepfather, Mr. Joseph McCreary of Marietta, PA, as well as 5 brothers and sisters: Constance Long of Albuquerque, NM; Sandra Gutshall of East Prospect, PA; Kathleen Blasick of Mechanicsburg, PA; Steven Blasick (Mindy) of Columbia, PA; and Mark Blasick of Columbia, PA, 18 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Eugene Blasick; her mother, Eilene Joyce McCreary (Eisenhower), and a nephew, Dennis Gutshall.
Deb was a member of the Donegal High School Class of 1976, Mount Joy, Pa, and she graduated from Consolidated School of Business, Lancaster, Pa, in 1989 in the Computerized Office Technology Program. She held an administrative position in her church office.
She had many interests: reading in a wide variety of subjects, beating anyone that dared to come near her Scrabble board, creative sewing both by hand and machine, and gardening which she learned as a young girl from her maternal grandfather who was of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry. But her greatest love has always been music, for which she always had a natural talent. She honed her skills singing in Sunday School choirs, elementary school choirs, church worship bands, and entertaining her friends with both her vocals and her self-taught guitar and piano accompaniments. She also loved communing with God and other believers, attending church and studying the Bible.
She enjoyed being in nature, taking long walks, and spending time with her family and grand-puppies. Deb made friends wherever she went, and she was known for her compassion and generosity. She will be greatly missed.
