At 91 years young, Donald B. Moyer reached the end of his remarkable life and 15 -year courageous journey with Parkinson’s Disease. He left this earth peacefully on July 15, 2025 in his residence.
Born in Allentown, Donald was the son of the late Earl and Arlene Moyer. As a resident of Boyertown, Pa, Donald lived a life defined not by the trials he faced but by his unwavering faith. He was a man whose spirit could light up a room and whose love and kindness left a mark on every heart he encountered.
Donald’s greatest gift was his ability to love unconditionally. This was evident in his 64-year marriage to Judith (Derr) Moyer. In addition to his wife Judy, his children include two sons, David Moyer and his partner Donna Prestia of Birdsboro, Pa and Mark Moyer and his wife Mary Beth of Douglassville, Pa. Being a grandfather was Donald’s delight as he was affectionally known as “Pappy” to Jayson and Joey Moyer. In addition to the immediate family, Donald is survived by two loving siblings: Lee B. Moyer and his wife Joy of Gilbertsville, Pa and Kay Kriebel and her husband Martin of Alburtis, Pa and several nieces.
Donald was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He continued his life of service in public education as a teacher and school administrator in the Boyertown, Spring-Ford, and Upper Perkiomen School Districts in Pa. Upon retirement, Donald found pleasure in traveling with his wife, leading and participating in faith-based church groups, embracing the role of a proud grandfather, and cherishing the memories made with dear friends.
Though Parkinson’s may have slowed his steps, it never stole his joy. All who knew and loved him are welcomed to celebrate this man who truly lived joyfully and walked faithfully.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at New Ridge Fellowship Church, Gilbertsville, Pa. The family will welcome friends and loved ones at 9:30 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mission Ministry of New Ridge Fellowship Church, Gilbertsville, Pa.
