Donald C. Ward Sr., 70, Past President General of the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, passed away peacefully on Dec 1st, 2023 in the home he built in Boyertown, PA. He was the loving husband of Eileen (Uber) Ward, who preceded him in death.
Donald grew up in Wallingford, PA, where he graduated from Nether Providence High School in 1971. He later graduated from Salisbury State University. Donald was a master electrician and proud owner of High Energy Lighting. He loved nature, animals, hunting, and fishing. He was a huge advocate for AA and the DSDI and supportive of all those who reached out to him.
Donald is survived by his brothers Bill Ward, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Mark Ward, Devon, PA. Additionally, his daughter Dana Veljacic and granddaughter Emeline Mitchell of Minturn, CO, son Donald Ward Jr, husband of Erin Ward of Gambrills, MD, and grandchildren Broderick, Stella, Charlotte, and Eleanor Ward. Preceded him in death, brother Jefferey Ward, mother Sandra Crosset Ward and father William Ward IV. Donald loved his friends and family and will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, humor, and for his kind and gentle spirit.
