Dr. Irwin Sam Gladstone, 82, formerly of Richboro, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026. He
was the loving husband of Carol Ann Gladstone (predeceased) for 35 years. Born in Bayside Queens, New York,
Irwin was the son of the late Joseph and Celia (Cohen) Gladstone.
Irwin spent most of his childhood in New York, later moving to the Philadelphia area to attend
Salus University to obtain his medical degree. He spent 53 years practicing optometry in the
Bucks County area, becoming a beloved eye doctor and friend to many.
Dr. Gladstone enjoyed manning the grill at summer parties, dinners with friends, being the
family photographer, Phillies baseball, his bourbon, dark chocolate, and his favorite feline girl
Clawdia Grace. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed the time spent with them.
He was predeceased in death by his wife, Carol, a sister, Gladys Pollack, and son, Stephen
Macellaro. He is survived by his daughter, Tara Focht (Zach), grandchildren (Jamie, Nicholas,
Averie, Ryan, Sarakate, and Isaac), and his cousin Marvin Axler.
Special thank you to the nurses and staff at Grane Hospice for their gentle and loving care.
A private family service will be held.
