Erica Varady

Erica Mae Varady, 35, of Shillington, passed away on April 29, 2026 at Tower Health – Reading Hospital, West Reading surrounded by her loving family. 

She was the daughter of Steven Varady, Sr. of Charlestown, MD and Carolyn Marquardt Peterson, wife of Richard Peterson of Savannah, GA. 

Erica was a 2008 graduate of Twin Valley High School and Berks Career & Technology Center, following her career choice as a beautician. 

Erica was extremely generous and had a heart of gold. She never went anywhere empty-handed and enjoyed giving gifts from the heart. 

Growing up, she enjoyed spending weekends on the Chesapeake Bay with her family. Swimming, boating and shopping were some of her favorite hobbies. 

Surviving in addition to her parents is her son, Hayden Matthew Varady; her brother, Steven Varady, Jr., fiancé of Colleen Melcher of Birdsboro; two nieces, Rylee Lynn Varady and Lillian Joy Varady; and a nephew, Wyatt Lee Varady. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to a trust in Hayden's name for his education and future. Please make checks payable to "Hayden Matthew Varady" and they can be mailed or dropped off to Diamond Credit Union, 1500 Ethan Drive, Wyomissing, PA 19610. 

Cremation Society of Berks County, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
