Frederick Leo Paldan, 81, of St. Lawrence, husband of Cay (Harp) Paldan, died Thursday 04/11/2024, at home. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the oldest of four sons of the late Niilo and Laila (Saarm) Paldan. Fred grew up in Michigan, but he resided most of his life in St. Peters, PA. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Fred met his wife, Cay, of 55 years, at the Phoenixville Army Hospital where he was stationed. Fred was a multi-talented man with many hobbies including playing the violin, sailing, wood-working, riding bike and motorcycles, working on cars and tractors, and photography. In addition to a long career in quality assurance of fire protection equipment, he also owned and operated a barbeque restaurant and was a master plumber and electrician. Fred was fortunate to have traveled to many countries with his job and visited most of the fifty states with his wife and daughters. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Stacy Dori of Boyertown and Karen Weber, wife of Kevin Weber, of St. Lawrence; five grandchildren, John, Michael and Andrew Dori, and Meilea and Rowan Weber; and younger brother, Daryll Paldan, husband of Sandy Paldan. Fred was also a brother to the late Andre Paldan and James Paldan, husband of Diane Paldan. A private ceremony with family will be held in Havre de Grace, MD, on the Chesapeake Bay where Fred enjoyed sailing his boat.
