In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Courtney (Brown) MacMullen (married to Kenneth MacMullen Jr), Gabrielle Brown and Matthew Brown; and his grandchildren Emily MacMullen and Connor MacMullen.
Gene was born in West Lawn, Pennsylvania on August 23,1950 to Bernard A. Brown and Kathryn (McMallicher) Brown. Gene graduated from Wilson High School in 1968 and Kutztown University in 1972 with a bachelors of education focusing on mathematics. Gene was an active member of St. John Baptist de la Salle of Shillington, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Gene dedicated his life to loving and supporting his family and wife. His family will always treasure the countless memories they made during their trips to the shore, as well as Europe. He loved spending time coaching and cheering from the sidelines at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. His passions in life included restoring and racing classic British cars as a part of the Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association. In his spare time, you could find Gene working on home improvement projects including major home renovations and playing poker with his close group of friends.
A funeral mass will be held at St. John Baptist de la Salle Church on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 12:00 PM, followed by a private burial for immediate family at Pleasant View Cemetery. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date. In leu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gene’s name to the Michael J Fox Foundation, www.michaeljfox.org/donate, who has made it their urgent goal to eliminate Parkinson’s Disease.
