Helmut Reinhold  Habenschuss

Helmut Reinhold Habenschuss, 73, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at West Reading Hospital. Helmut was born on March 6, 1950, in Grieskirchen, Oberösterreich (Austria) the son of Peter Habenschuss and Katharina Hermann. He was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School Class of 1970. He later went on hold several jobs, he was a line cook in Reading, PA which he really enjoyed. He also drove cab for Pottstown Taxi, assembled caskets at the Boyertown Casket Company and worked for ICS (Inventory Control System). When he was younger, he enjoyed being a soccer coach to the Boyertown Bears Boys team, swimming and playing cards friends. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of the family pets, especially his cat Utley. He loved to facetime and text, and always had a joke waiting. The world lost one of the greats, Helmut was always happy and willing to help his loved ones when needed, he had a huge heart.

Helmut leaves behind 2 children, John (Elizabeth) D. Flint III of Leola and Kristi (Sherrie) McColgan of Pottstown, 5 grandchildren John D. Flint IV, Jennifer Flint, Stephanie Goodwin, Marc McColgan & Courtney McColgan, and one great grandson, Mason Vroman. He also remained friends with the mother of his children Barbara Good. Besides his parents, Helmut was preceded in death by his brothers Martin Habenschuss and Eduard Habenschuss.

Cremation Society of Berks County was in charge of the cremation.

A Memorial Service will be held at Warker Troutman Funeral Home 726 E. High St. Pottstown, PA 19464 on Friday November 17, 2023, 4-5 visitation and 5 pm service.
