James Edward Nikerle

James Edward Nikerle went home to be with the Lord October 19th after a difficult fight with a muscle disease in Reading Hospital. He was 70 years old.

Jim was a 1973 graduate from Boyertown High School and worked on the family farm in Obelisk while growing up. Recently he worked for Custer's 

Garage as a school bus driver and was also a driver for Kennedy Ford in Sanatoga.

Jim attended the Berean Bible Church in Pottstown and also enjoyed fellowship with believers at Tri County Bible Church and Limerick Chapel, 

attending Sunday services as well as the Men's Bible Study.

Jim had a big heart, finding meaning in helping people who were needy. As a driver for many years, he enjoyed driving in his spare time. If you needed direction to go anywhere, Jim could tell you the best way to go. 

Jim is survived by two sisters, Karlene, wife of William Ryan of Reading, PA and Joy Longacre, wife of Andy Longacre of Parker Ford, PA and two brothers,  Thomas Nikerle, husband of Sunita of Perkiomenville, PA and Kevin Nikerle,  husband of Beverly of Perkiomenville, PA. 

Jim was predeceased by his parents, John and Ruth Nikerle, two sisters, Ruth Ann Nikerle and Christine Groff and two brothers, John (Ernie) Nikerle and Paul Nikerle. 

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 at the Berean Bible Church, 2675 East High Street in Pottstown, with Pastor Nick Garland officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to the Salvation Army, 137 King Street in Pottstown.
