Kathleen “Kat” (Mogyorossy) Smith
March 9,1972 - March 31, 2025
Kathleen “Kat” (Mogyorossy) Smith left this world on March 31, 2025 surrounded by her family after a brief but valiant battle with MDS. She was the daughter of Joseph and Nola Mogyorossy. She was the mother to and predeceased by her son Kenneth “Kenny” Smith.
Kat was born on March 9, 1972. She was a graduate of Brandywine Heights Area High School. Kat was a talented artist sharing her drawings with those she truly loved. Her humor knew no bounds. One of her Hospice goals was to have her passing shared on April Fools Day so that her family would have to convince people that it was in fact not a prank. She touched so many lives in her 53 years on earth.
Kat is survived by her brother Michael Mogyorossy of Philadelphia, Sister Laurel Williams, wife of Doug Williams, Hamburg, Sister Rebecca Chappell of Philadelphia,
Brother By Choice Mark R Smith, Mertztown, Sister By Choice Dania Clifford, New Holland. She was loved by her nephews Stephen Dougherty, Logan Dougherty, Jordan Dougherty, fiancé of Kailey Conrad, Gavin and Richard “RJ” Williams, and niece Katrina Schwartz wife of Cody Schwartz. She is also survived by her two great nieces and great nephew. She truly loved and adored her Besties Marcus, Karen, and Dave. Kat is also survived by her beloved pets Shadow and Skitter.
Kat had very specific wishes. She did not want visitation or traditional funeral services. Her wishes will be carried out by those she shared them with at a private time. This does not mean that she didn’t love you or care for you. It was just her way of “Keeping it simple” and doing it her way on her terms. In lieu of flowers please donate to Lehigh Valley Health Nework’s Hospice at support.lvhn.org. They were an incredible blessing to Kat in her choices and planning. She is also grateful to her Laurel Nursing team and her Bayada care team especially Kathy Charles.
