Keith Hartzell, a true lover of the outdoors and resident of Barto, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 1, 2026. Born in Pottstown on January 6, 1949, to the late Ruth Hartzell. Keith lived a life defined by his passions and dedication to his family.
Keith was an avid hunter and fisherman who felt most at home in nature. He spent countless hours in the woods and on the water, but his greatest joy came from sharing the traditions. He took immense pride in teaching his grandsons the skills of the trade, ensuring they knew how to follow the same path. When he wasn’t tracking game, or casting a line, Keith loved his freedom of the open road and enjoyed riding his motorcycles whenever he had the chance.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene Hartzell. His legacy continues through a large loving family that includes 6 daughters, 2 sons, 20 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth, and his brother Jack and Glenn Hartzell.
A devout Christian, Keith was a pillar of his faith community. He was very involved at Trinity Church, Boyertown where he attended faithfully.
Services will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2026, at Trinity Church, 250 Sweinhart Road, Boyertown, PA 19512. A family visitation will begin at 10:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. A private burial will take place afterward at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown where Keith will be laid to rest next to his brother.
