Pauline Anna (Delp) DeLong

Pauline Anna "Tootie"  DeLong, 86, of Oley, passed away Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, at Laureldale Skilled Nursing.

She was the beloved wife of George William Delong, who she married September 22, 1956.

Born in Alsace Township, she is the daughter of the late Walter Rueben, and Una Rebecca (Kline) Delp.

Pauline was a graduate of Reading High School.

She was a member of Zion Spies Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as the secretary for 36 years, retiring in 2013. Pauline was also a member of the Lutheran League at the church.

Pauline was also employed at Custom Sportswear, 10th and Spring St., Reading, for 28 years, as a packer, shipper, and laborer.

She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for dolls. Pauline was a den mother for the Cub Scouts for many years. 

Pauline was an avid baker; she would bake numerous amounts and varieties of Christmas cookies and fasnachts.

In addition to her husband George, Pauline is survived by three children: Robert W., husband of Kathleen DeLong, Wernersville; Donna Jean, Oley; and Brenda L., wife of Karl K. Leiby, Hamburg. Three grandchildren: Samantha Shoemaker, fiancé of Taj Goodman; Erika Germann; and Carl, husband of Jen Oswald, seven great grandchildren: Autumn DiScala; Ryan DeLong; Trisha Toth; Alex Shoemaker; Jonathan Shoemaker; Kari Lesher; and Micah Thomas; and and two siblings: Lester, widower of Dorothy Delp; and June, wife of Donald Ellis also survive her

She was predeceased by a grandson, William "Billy" S. DeLong, and three siblings, Pearl E. Miller, Norman Delp, and Russell Delp.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pauline's honor may be made to Donna Oswald to help defray the cost of the funeral. Cremation Society of Berks County, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
