Sherie Klemm

Sherie L. Klemm, age 66, of Kenhorst, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 21st, 2023, after a sudden cancer diagnosis and severe, unforeseen spinal injury. She was preceded in death by her parents Ron and Verda Northey of Mackinaw, Michigan. She is survived by her husband of 45 years Larry Klemm, her children Anne (Brian) Ingham, Andrea (Meredith) Lockhart, Amanda (Mike) Gunter, and Amy (Daniel) Kozina, and her sister Linda (Mark) Quick. In addition to raising her four children, she was a devoted grandmother who will be exceptionally missed by her eight grandchildren: Lauren, Hudson, and Owen Ingham; Jude and Elliot Lockhart; Madelyn and Aubrey Gunter; and Klementine Kozina. 

Sherie was born in Juneau, Alaska, on June 29th, 1956, to parents Ron and Verda Northey. She and her younger sister Linda grew up surrounded by lakes and forests in Michigan’s state parks, where their father worked as a ranger. For this reason, Sherie would spend most of her life preferring to be outdoors. Sherie and Larry were married in July of 1977 in Davisburg, Michigan. Sherie had a varied set of careers including lead design at a candle factory, medical billing, IT management, and just before retiring, she worked as a research and development lab technician for a local cosmetic company. Sherie graduated with her Bachelors degree from Walsh College in Troy, MI in 2009 before she and Larry moved to Pennsylvania in 2010 to be closer to family.

Sherie’s legacy will be upheld by a vast community of family and friends and the myriad lives she touched in both small and significant ways. Throughout her life, she welcomed the role of a mother to all, whether friends of her own children, co-workers, or church family. Sherie was an active member of her current church, Victory Baptist where she served the Lord by playing her flute and working in the nursery. Her strong faith in God sustained her until the end. An avid reader and talented musician, Sherie instilled in her children a love of books and music. To remember her best, they will go outside, and sit among the trees, and listen to the birds.  

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church, 1059 Victory Circle, Reading, PA 19605 at 10:30 am. Luncheon reception to follow. Condolences can be sent to Larry Klemm, 1641 Commonwealth Blvd., Reading, PA, 19607.
