Vicki Ann Makins passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August
10, 2025.
Up until the day of her passing, Vicki maintained a life of kindness, compassion and
unconditional love for her friends and family. While she was known to love her pets, her
generous yard, bursting with beautiful flowers and nature’s finest views, Vicki also loved
people and would welcome anyone into her home for coffee, tea or a simple chat.
Throughout the years, many friends and family were welcomed for extended periods of
time, to come and be taken care of at her home.
Vicki spent her early years in Obelisk with her parents, but married young and started
her own family. Her marriage, one that spanned fifty-two years, was all encompassed
with support, love and three beautiful children.
Vicki was a full-time mother and homemaker while her children were young, but she
later retired from ValTech Corp after twenty-one years of employment.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband James Makins Sr, daughters
Kimberly M. Keller - wife to Barry R. Keller, Tracey L. Makins - wife to Terrie and one
son, James Makins Jr. She will remain loved fiercely by all her granddaughters, Emily N.
Keller, Destiny M. Makins, Sierra L. Makins and Alexis M. Makins.
Burial will be private.
Celebration of life is scheduled for September 13,2025.
