Virginia "Gini" May (Frey) Beck, 88, of Wyomissing, PA passed away on November 14, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, PA on June 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. Frey, Sr. and Mary L. (Kaucher).
Gini graduated from Reading High School in 1954 and with honors from Albright College in 1958. At the completion of her degree, she was commissioned into the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant, serving at Fort McClellan in Anniston, AL. Following her discharge, she earned her teaching credentials from Kutztown University.
Gini enjoyed a 33-year teaching career at the Muhlenberg Township School District, retiring in 1995. She taught first and second grades at the Wilson G. Sarig Elementary School and the Muhlenberg Primary Center. She also served as an officer for the Muhlenberg Township Education Association.
Following her retirement, Gini returned to Albright College and earned a second Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design and Marketing, with a concentration in Millinery Arts.
Gini is survived by her son George Peter Beck and his wife Lauren E. of Wyomissing. Gini is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Bertoud and her husband Roland of Kinzer, PA and her beloved granddaughter Marigold.
In addition to her parents, Gini was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, George S. Beck; and her three brothers Alan R. Frey, George R. Frey and Robert R. Frey.
